A superb and very large antique Meissen porcelain salmon platter, dating to the late 19th / early 20th century (circa 1890–1905).
Decorated with a finely hand-painted central floral study of blue bindweed (morning glory) with trailing vines, surrounded by scattered sprigs and an elegant moulded basket-weave border. The reverse bears the genuine underglaze blue crossed swords factory mark.
At 62 cm long, this is a true salmon dish made for formal dining or hotel service – a scarce size and increasingly difficult to find.
